  • You really need to give us more info:

NBU version on Master, Media and Client
OS on Master, Media and Client
Type of backup - bphdb says to me it is a database backup of some sort
Database type and version on the client
Is this a new setup that has never worked before or something that has been working fine and now failing?
If new setup, what steps have been performed to configure backup?

The job details looks like a parent job for a database backup.
Were any child jobs created? If so, what was the status of child job(s)?
Do you have any log files on the client to track database backups - e.g. script output, NBU logs like bpcd, dbclient, bphdb?

  • NBU version on Master, Media and Client  :version 7.1.0.3 on all master, media and clients

OS on Master, Media and Client   :   Solaris 10 on master, media and client

Type of backup - Database backup

Database type and version on the client :ASAPDB, version Oracle 10G

No its a old setup and previosly backups were running fine

yes it is parent job, child jobs completed successfullly

yes logs are present on the server.Attching the logs for reference.

  • Seems you forgot to attach the logs.....

If we look at job details, we see that there is exactly 2 hours between these two entries:

    5/4/2012 3:00:19 AM - connected; connect time: 00:00:01
    5/4/2012 5:00:13 AM - Error bpbrm(pid=2765) socket read failed: errno = 104 - Connection reset by peer

Is there a firewall between master and media server?
bpbrm log on media server will also be helpful.
