Help - clear up space removing pack* directories?

Hello,

I found this forum post:  http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/can-usropenvpacknb701saveprenb701082411195341targz-be-deleted-following-successful-upgrade

...but I just wanted to be sure before taking action...

I have a share that has plenty of space where I can move these to... but I just wanted to be sure... can the following be moved/removed from /usr/openv without creating any problems? I am currently at version 7.7.1, and it has been running fine...

/usr/openv/pack.7.6.0.4

/usr/openv/pack.7.1.0.3

/usr/openv/pack/NB_7.7.1

/usr/openv/pack/NB_CLT_7.7.1

Thanks in advance...

  • Sure, those are held for possible version fallback.  I usually delete packs over a few months old.

  • If you're really nervous about it, you can archive them via NetBackup so they will be backed up and then deleted.

  • Just delete the old version in /usr/openv/pack

Those directories can grow quite large over time ..
