Can somebody please explain how excalty nbu works with ms exchange, which files of nbu and exchange it uses to communicate with exchange, the whole in depth concept.

The closest we can get to 'how it works' is contained in NetBackup for Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator's Guide
For anything else, you will need to get hold of Veritas Engineering team.
