How I can convert dates and times ?


How I can convert dates and times in the netbackup logs like: 2919473 to dd / mm / yyyy HH: MM: SS format under netbackup 6.5 ?

    If you look in the downloads section of this forum, there are several scripts that modify the dates into human readable format

    I take that back - I just browsed through the downloads and it isnt there anymore.  Did it get taken down?  Or maybe my memory is not serving me correctly.

    Anyway I know I've seen it posted on here.  I do not have one, but I know some folks on here do, so maybe they can chime in.

    Had to trawl thru' manuals, KB articles etc etc etc looking for info on bpdbm - plus it didn't help that I wasn't sure of the command name either!

    bpdbm -ctime has been around since Netbackup 3.4 Andy.!

    bpdbm -ctime is rather slow. If converting may dates consider using Perl.

    But over the years have never had reason to find out actual date & time from logs & files etc - until the day before the day before yesterday & that was only because I was playing around with a bit of scripting that I didn't really need!

    Amazing what you do use & what slips you by......
