How to expire vault tape.

Hi all,

I want to expire vault tape. I have tryed to use the commands:

bpexpdate -m 0019L6 -d 0

bpexpdate -m 0019L6 -d 0 - force

I receive same message: no images were successfully processed

After, I had try to deassign tape without success:

/bpexpdate  -deassignempty -m 0019L6

Message received: No media matching criteria were found to be deassigned. no entity was found.

Could you help me for resolve it?

Thanks!

Regards,

Daniele

  • FIrstly, are there any images on that tape. Secondly, are you running the CMD as adminstrator?

Use bpimmedia to see what is listed as being on the media.

  • Hello Riaan,

In this tape now not there images, i have expired it from catalog options in the GUI.

I have used dpimmedia, the result is:

    /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpimmedia -mediaid 0019L6
    IMAGE ns-rdbms02.cogens.local 9 ns-rdbms02.cogens.local_1428288064 P_AWP_DBFULL 15 Default-Application-Backup 2 1 14 2147483647 0 0 0 0
    FRAG 3 2 96381984 0 2 20 1 0019L6 media-srvrm-01.cogetech.it 65536 2 1428354007 2 0 *NULL* 2147483647 0 10 1 *NULL* 0

    Thank you!

  • No response since 23 Dec....

Have you been able to recycle this tape as yet?

If not, please show us output of
    nbemmcmd -listmedia -mediaid 0019L6.

bpimmedia seemed to list one image still on this tape.

As a matter of interest - are you using SLPs in your environment?
