How to get CA certificate fingerprint for silent install media server

Hi,

I am planning to install NetBackup media server silently using answer file. For this, I need to add CA_CEETIFICATE_ FINGERPRINT and AUTHORIZATION_TOKEN. But, I am not getting option to get CA_CEETIFICATE_ FINGERPRINT for media server for silent install. Could you please help me with the option to get this.

Thanks.

  • Hi

In the extracted installation directory there is either a file NBInstallAnswer-media.template for Linux or silentmedia.cmd for Windows (this is in the x64 subfolder) that you can use to set the required variables including the ones you mention. Modify them to suit your environment and use them as required (Linux needs the file to reside as /tmp/NBInstallAnswer.conf).

    Cheers
    David

To add to what Quebek has said. Use the -help switch with -createToken. There should be a way to specify the number of uses that token has so you don't have to generate a new one each time.

Hi, is that fingerprint for master server? If so I can generate it but if for media server which not yet installed those commands are not going to work, right? Please suggest. Thanks

        Hi

There is only one CA in NBU domain per my understanding. You need to provide one of the master so the media will start trusting this master and vice-versa thanks to token you generated for this media.
