Hyper-V Restore from Differential or Cumulative Backup Copies

Hi

    I am using NetBackup 7.7.1 for backing up our Hyper-V VM using Hyper-V Cluster running on Win2k12.

I am able to backup and restore full VM from full backup. Also I am able to take both Differential and Cumulative Backup for the Hyper-V VM.

But when I try to restore the Full VM, by selecting all the appropriate know, NetBackup Never displays the Differential and Cumulative Backup Copies to select for restore and shows only full backup.

 

Is there anything specific that needs to be done so for restore from differential or cumulative backup ?

    The incremental backup is purely for file level restore. Hyper-V style VM backups do not support the merged full+incr VM restore that VMware supports. So, you have to do a full Hyper-V VM restore, and then a "client" based file level restore from the incremental backup.
