i need some guidance for the Netbackup certification..

A good route would be to look a finding a position with a Symantec Partner

That will give you a great deal more training resources at you disposal - especially online things

If that is not feasable then just plough through all of the manuals and keep your eye on the Support web site for late breaking news - or just spend a few weeks reading every thread that comes in on here and how it develops - i am a Trusted Advisor on here and as qualified as you can get in NetBackup but I still learn new things almost every day - the learning just never stops!!

Finally .. they say Practice makes Perfect ... very true .... have your own system installed and play with every feature you can to really get to know the product

I am actually working as a trainee Backup and Restore admin for my company.

I totally agree with you about the Practice thing and I will keep learning new things everyday.

Its just that I want to have a certification in Netbackup down the line so iam trying to prepare for it right from now.But the problem is I am not getting the proper study material which is exam oriented to go further.

If your issue will be resolved Please don't forget to mark the thread as solved.

The material may be more limited for non partners - but you can always attend a NetBackup training course with Symantec or a Partner and will generally get enough during one of those to pass the initial exams

If i remeber correctly there is the adminstrators exam (most basic) then the STS (Symantec Technical Specialist - advanced aimed at engineers) then the ASC (Authorised Symantec Consultant - very advanced and includes pre-sales / business related matters)

The STS would be a good one to aim for and perhaps your company could help you out with training costs etc.

Yeah.. currently I am aiming for the basic administrators exam.After that i will focus on the STS.
