Issue backing up Exchange 2010 data

Hi All,

  We are having issues while backing up the " passive copy" of Exchage 2010 data. The backup of the active db gets successfully completed whereas the backup of passive copy gets partially successful.

Netbackup Version : 7.0.1

Netbackup Server OS: Win 2008 Enterprise R2.

    Added the list of Servers to the "preferred Server list" while backing up the passive copy and the job has succeeded. Is it mandatory to do this as in that option its just mentioned passive copy/preferred server??

    Check the bpfis logs on the passive server as well as the application event viewer logs. Is your passive 100% in sync? If you review the logs you'll probably find errors complaining about it not being able to find certain transaction log instances.

    Cool,

     

    If you don't put in the list then you're not guaranteed it will choose the passive. Remember the policy specifies the DAG name, not a specific server, be it active or passive.
