Mater server Backup(Hyper-V)

we installed master server in Hyper-V machine. Now I want to take backup of my Master server which has to be completely recoved during failure. Can you suggest me wwhich type of policy i have to use for ths purpose and what are options that are to be mandatory and what are the Backup selections.

    There is no policy type to recover entire master.

    Catalog backup policy will protect NBU catalogs.

    To recover a failed master, you need to install OS with same hostname and IP, install NBU to same path as before, patch to same level as before, then recover catalogs.

    This procedure along with detailed catalog recovery instructions is covered in Disaster Recovery section of NetBackup Troubleshooting Guide

    A Catalog Backup is must to recover a Master Server. Configure a Catalog Backup Policy on Master server.

    Thank you Marianne. Can we make File level Backup For the master server. does it anyway help us during  disaster.

    No. Do not try to recover from file level backup. The NBU sybase databases will be inconsistent during backup.

    PLEASE read up in Troubleshooting Guide as per my previous post.

    Catalog backup is covered in NBU Admin Guide I.
