Media Expire issue.

Hi,

Netbackup 7.6.0.1 enivironment with Windows Server 2008 OS

Media is showing "requested media id is not assigned to this host in the EMM database"  after upgrading from 7.5.0.6 to 7.6 to 7.6.0.1

help me in fixing the issue.

All the new media assigned to Server is showing this error while expiring using the below cmd

bpexpdate -d 0 -m <media id>  -force .

  • This media-id is FROZEN.

Expiring it will not return it to usable media.
There is nothing to expire since 'Data Expiration: ' and 'Valid Images:' fields are empty.

You need to find out why it got frozen.

If you feel that the tape is good, unfreeze it.
It will remove the 'Time Assigned:' field and make it usable again.

  • Upgrade should NOT cause this kind of issue.

Have you checked 'Media Summary' report with Verbose option selected to see if expiration dates are listed as expected?

Please show us this command for one of the tapes you are having an issue with:

    nbemmcmd -listmedia -mediaid <media-id>

  • Media is FROZEN. Nothing to do with upgrade, but with some or other I/O error that seemed to have happened today. Check Media Logs report for the media server name seen in ' Last Write Host' field above.
  • when i trigger backup for the particular media its running and

after that first time i expire the media it is expiring and second time it throws error as

"requested media is not assigned to this EMM database"

  • This media-id is FROZEN.

Expiring it will not return it to usable media.
