Media server down in cluster

I am using netbackup7.7 in windows 2012 server. I have two media servers in which one of the media server is having cluster with another server (which is not a netbackup media/master server) . Now from the last few days one of my media server is going down  which is in cluster with other server(which is not a netbackup media/master server).

Is the clustering is the reason for the media server to go down or any other reason.

  • Please help us understand what 'media server is going down' means.

Is the server crashing? Or just comms issues between master and media server?

If the server is crashing, you need to check OS event logs (System and Application) for the reason.

Installation of NBU media server in a cluster is perfectly supported.
Although NBU cannot be clustered on a media server, you can install and configure each node as media server and then configure app_cluster in NBU.

Here my physical server(media sever) harware was running but it is hung state. server is not crashing and there is no harware failures in the server.

That is fine for us to know that media server within cluster will support.
