MSDP deduplication queue processing

Hi experts,

I have a question regarding MSDP deduplication queue processing.

I have read Deduplication guide but still have the following questions.

#1. When will the first queue processing occues?

Will the queue occur after 20 minutes since some services or daemon processes are started?

#2. Will be the queue logged into storaged.log file with time stamp?

#3. Will the queue start even if the backup or restore jobs are running?

Regards,

  • To answer your questions:

#1. When will the first queue processing occues?  Will the queue occur after 20 minutes since some services or daemon processes are started?

Queue Processing runs on a schedule and will attempt to start every 12 hours, triggering automatically at 00:20:00 and 12:20:00.

#2. Will be the queue logged into storaged.log file with time stamp?

Yes.  The storaged.log will record Queue Processing success or failure.

#3. Will the queue start even if the backup or restore jobs are running?

Yes.  This is not dependent on external requests for data.
