NBU 7.7.3 LiveUpdate

Greetings,

I've been working through setting up a Netbackup LiveUpdate platform so we can use LU to upgrade our client servers instead of manually upgrading over 4,000 backup clients. I put all the LU files on our OpsCtr server which is a Windows 2012 box.

I went to one of our shared master servers and created our first ever LU policy in an attempt to see how LU worked. Single windows client to upgrade.

This is what I'm getting:

So.....

What goes in the LiveUpdateHost.hst file?

No, Netbackup is not installed on the OpsCenter server.

I am trying LU from a master backup server (NBU 7.7.3) to upgrade a Windows 7.6.1.2 client.

I've looked all over the web and documentation without success. Please advise.

      Charles,

      Yes, I can hit it via web browser and I can download any of the .flg files out there.

      I'm just chasing a rabbit that seems to be running faster than I can run. :)

        Can you check if the file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LUALL.EXE" exists on the OpsCenter server. This executable is part Symantec Endpoint Protection but it's used by NetBackup to check/download the updates.

        If the client has a database agent you can verify that folder \NetBackup\logs\user_ops\ has not more than 1000 files  inside (this is a bug in 7.x where user_ops folder will keep milion of old log files - delete them); otherwise the installer will fail without any reason.

        From my experience, I would suget you to use the IP of the LiveUpdate server instead of the FQDN in the policy.
