NBU installation on windows 2008 - 64bit

Hi All,

 

i need an urgent solution as regards the installtion of NBU 7 on a windows 2008 server -64bit. each time i try, i get this errors:

05-24-2012,09:51:05 : Could not copy cab file to installer cache directory. See above error. Returning with error.
 

05-24-2012,09:51:18 : Could not retrieve INSTALLDIR from registry. Returning with error.

 

05-24-2012,09:51:18 : Could not retrieve CustomActionData MSI property. Returning with error.
 

it is a very critical server that needs backup.

 

please help.

  • First of all - have you joined and extracted the 2 download-files as per the README on FileConnect?

    Secondly, have you right-clicked on browser.exe and 'Run as Administrator'?

  • thanks guys, i am fine now. i had to copy the installation to the client machine, then ran as administrator.

    Copy the installation locally and run it from there - i see you are installing via a UNC path and 2008 doesnt always like files from another system

    Once copied right click on the setup.exe to make sure it is allowed to run on the system

    Then right click and run as administrator

    Do not set a service account to be used during the install as it doesnt check it and any typo will also make it roll back (if you need one change it after it is installed)
