NBU migration to new environment

Hi all,

we have an old Master Server 7.1 and a new Mster Server 7.6.1.

The new master is clear and now we are studing how to import all the images of the old master in the new catalog.

We have DataDomain DP, tape, Appliance 5220.

I think to use bpimport command and I m studing it, have you any suggestion or puntual admin guid that I can read ?

    How big is this environment? What is the size of unexpired backups on all backup destinations?

    As per my previous post - bpimport is extremely time consuming - you first of all need to perform phase 1 import before phase 2 can be started, bearing in mind that phase 1 images only have 1 week retention.

    Best solution will be Catalog Migration using services from a certified CatMan consultant.

    Why not upgrade existing master server, then use catalog backup and restore to recover catalogs on the new server? bpimport will work if you have a small amount of images to import. Bear in mind that phase 2 import will take as long as the backups did.

    Unfortunely the old master, is a old phisical cluster mono-node survived and we don't want "touch" it.
