NBU6 MP4 with IBM2109 SAN, IBM LTO3 and Dell PV-132T LTO2 drives environment

Hi Gurus and all,

While we had upgraded master-server from NBU5.0 MP3 on Win2k SP4 to NBU6 MP4 on Win2k3 Std Ed SP1 with addition of LTO3 drives, we encountered frequent communications instability between these drives and master-server and media-servers. We had since reviewed SAN zoning setup, QLogic HBAs BIOS/firmware, SANSurfer persistent-binding, LUNs values but non was conclusive as to cause of communication instability problem. Check with vendors indicates we may need to do this or that, eg IBM SAN re-zoning, QLogic BIOS/firmware upgrades, LTO3 & LTO2 robot/drive firmware upgrades which are confusing as to which to attempt first as this was not an issue when we were at NBU5.0 MP3!

 

Appreciate if anyone experience similar problem before and how/what was done to resolve or making it more stable. Much appreciated.:mantongue:
