NDMP restoration failing

I fired a restoration and it failed after 567GB of data getting restored.

The destination has a  total space of 1.4TB out of which only 763GB is used. Since enough space is available in the destination why is the restoration failing with the below mentioned logs: 

15:44:51 (286060.001) EVS1CHAND_NEW: NDMP(199250): Destination size file stream failure for path /FS2-CHAND/TPPGroup/PBG/FCIS_PBG/191113/online1.csv (QuotaFull)
15:44:52 (286060.001) EVS1CHAND_NEW: NDMP(199250): Action completed (NDMP mover terminated)
15:44:53 (286060.001) NDMP restore failed from path /__VOLUME__/FS2-CHAND

 

 

The media server is Solaris 10 7.5.0.6. Please tell what is the issue and how to rectify it.

    The error message is about Quotas, not space:

    (QuotaFull)

    You need to speak to the Filer administrator,
    Nothing can be done from NBU side.

    NBU is merely telling us about the error received from the Filer.

    Not enough space in the restore destination by the look of it.

    Hi Marianne,

    The destination is a new hitachi hnas 3080 box. Filer administrator informed that We can ignore the Quota error messages as it is a Plain file system with no Quota defined

    As long as the Filer is refusing the restore because of the Quota message, there is nothing that can be done from NBU side.

    Filer admin needs to fix this......

    Since when does one ignore quota messages?  Is the filer Os defective when it comes to quotas? I'd be worried about that before I worry about netb. Fix the quota or remove entirely and you will have removed the obstacle.

    763GB + 567GB = 1330 which is close to your 1.4TB capacity, even without quota most devices will not allow you to fill 100%, more like 90%, which you have exceeded.

    If the HDS NAS also uses snapshots as a recovery feature, some % of the total volume (1.4TB) could be used to store snapshots. If this is the case you will not be able to restore. When your restore fails, does the NAS admin get any file space warnings in the SMU gui ?
