Need help in importing the Tapes

Hi All,

we have to perform DR every 3 months , now the issue is i need to import 6 LTO4 Tapes in HCART5 drives, im able to run the 1st phase succesfully but coming to 2nd phase im not able to see the images to import, could any one help me on this.

    See steps 4 and 5 in particular, are you using a big enough date range - this is thge usual reason for not finidng 'importable images' in phase 2.

    TN says NBU 6.x but fine for 7.x as well ...

    Why import?

    Why not perform catalog recovery?

    As long as media and tape drives are the same density (e.g. hcart or hcart2) there is no problem using LTO4 media in LTO5 tape drives.

    HI Marianne,

    we are doing the import of tapes backup in 1 site to another existing master server site, so if we go for catalog recovery i thing we will loss existing images in DR Master server right ?

    So, this is dual production.  Not DR.

    You may want to Google  'Recovery without Import '.

    I will post the link a bit later.

    With this process, you simply copy images to the other master, write-protect the tapes and add them to a non-backup pool (e.g. Restore), add FORCE_RESTORE...... entry and start the restore.

    Yes both are different Backup master servers, oh thanks for your help, from next time we will do that .
