Need help on taking backups to NAS

Hi All,

I need your help and suggestion on taking backups to NAS drive which is connect to network. I checked with my Windows admin and it is not possible to mount that NAS as a drive on the server.

Please suggest how to do that.

  • To configure NAS share as Storage Unit, add the path in Basic Disk Storage Unit as UNC path. Next, change logon service for these 2 NBU services to a Domain user with full rights to the share: NetBackup Client Service NetBackup Remote Manager and Monitor Service See: http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO34525

  • You mention 'Windows admin' and 'drive letter' but selected AIX as OS? What is the OS of the media server where you want to use NAS storage as disk storage unit?
  • sorry for the confussion Marianne, AIX is for my Master and Windows is for my Media server.

I want to configure the NAS storage as a disk storage unit on a windows 2008 R2 media server for backingup a Windows 2000 client. I have netbackup 6.5 installed on this Windows 2000.
