Need Suggestions on upgrade

Hi All,

Currently we are using NBU 7.0/7.0.1/ & 7.5 on w2k8 machines, want to know whether the upgrade is direct from 7.0 to 7.6? if NBCC is not showing any error can i upgrade t7.0 to 7.6 directly? please let me clarify on this.

  • I'm not aware of such a requirement. The upgrade portal states (check point 2)

    Key Notes:
    1. Before starting upgrading to NetBackup 7.6, run a Catalog Backup.

    2. Upgrade to NetBackup 7.6 can occur from all NetBackup 6.x and NetBackup 7.x versions. OpsCenter should be updated first, followed by the NetBackup Master Server, then Media Servers, then Clients.

    3. NetBackup 7.6 migrates the NetBackup catalog image header information into the Netbackup relational database. This is a multistep process that may impact installation and operational performance until complete. Please review the  NetBackup 7.6 Upgrade Guide for more details:  http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC6488

    4. With NetBackup 7.x, all Unix/Linux 32-bit support has been discontinued. Customers with 32-bit master servers can perform the following:
    A. Move to a Netbackup Appliance
    B. Transfer a NetBackup master to new hardware/architecture should refer to: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH77448

    5. Before upgrading, please review the full list of known issues on:

Yes you can go directly from 7.0.x to 7.6.0.x
