Netapp CIFS and NFS backups by mounting on the media server
Hi All,
In our current environment we are planning to mount NFS and CIFS volumes on to the media servers and configure standard policies to backup. We are using this to gain the feature of netbackup accelerator.
for these mount, can someone help to clarify on the below items. any document references are appreciated
1. what are the minimum privileges that i need while accessing these NFS and CIFS volumes
2. If i am directly mounting the Netapp Volume (rather than the qtree), will i be still able to backup all CIFS/NFS under this volume ? any issues cocerns with pratical experiences ?
thanks in advance

Is your media server Linux or Windows?
If Linux, you will probably NFS mount the NetApp shares.
Select 'Follow NFS' in the NBU Standard policy. If Windows, change NBU Client Service logon account to Domain user with rights to read data for backup, and write permissions for restore (so, full admin rights).
Add policy as MS-Windows with 'Backup network drives' selected in policy attributes and UNC path in backup selection.See http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH17222
