NetBackup 6.5.3 Oracle rman restore on alternate client failure

Hi:

I'm trying to configure an alternate client to restore a rman database, previously I installed the client and create the link requiered to use with oracle /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/libobk, but when i tried to get the restore I received the following message on rman.

I was looking for information about this error but I couldn't found it, somebody can help me to solve this, I'm really newbie with nbu. Thank you very much

    I don't like No.Restriction as it give all users access to all data. Instead go to :

    /usr/openv/netbackup/db/altname (if altnames doesn't exist - create it)

    Create a file named the host you are restoring to. Contents of the file is the host you are restoring from.

    E.g: Source whisky, destination tango

    touch tango
    echo "whisky" >> tango

    Go to the client you are restoring to and verify access with bplist.

    on Tango:
    # bplist -C whisky -t 4 -l -R -s 06/01/2009 /

    Yes "-C" mus be the host you are restoring from !

    PS: If you have multiple actives NIC, make sure you set "REQUIRED_INTERFACE = "IP to use" in bp.conf

    it is failing to resolve the master server's name "client07" in to IP address, and it's failing to connect to it.

    check your DNS or hosts file, verify name resolution by running this

    /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -hn client07 (this should return your master server's IP address)

    also, for the alternate client restore, you need a file touched on the master server

    touch /usr/openv/netbackup/db/altnames/No.Restrictions (do this with caution, this allows unrestricted restore from alternate clients)

    Are you able to do normal filesystem backup and restores for the Alt client? Verify basic comms (forward and reverse lookup in both diretions) before attempting RMAN restore.

    Abesama is right.  gethostbyname function failed with 48 - hostname not found error.

    Question - client07 is your master server ?

    I made diferent actions to solved it, Thank you very much for all the comments

    1. /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -hn client07 returns the master information
    2. I used /usr/openv/netbackup/db/altnames/No.Restrictions and make test between de main and alternate server.
    3. I used /usr/openv/netbackup/db/altname just with client09 on client01-nbu.
    4. Change the bp.conf with "REQUIRED_INTERFACE = "IP to use"
    4. Restart daemons on master client07
    5. Verify the content of the log file bpclient
