netbackup 6.5 restore to a different server

I have it setup like that. I guess I was more or less wondering if there is a way to start a restore from the master console like what you do in ArcServe?

It is very much possible to initiate a restore from the master server and direct it to any client. You will find this in the admin guide. If you are getting a specific error message, please post the error message here so that acurate solution can be provided.

Just open the BAR on the master.

Choose your source and destination servers.  (if using the windows gui and the server name is not listed in the BAR just add it).

I NEVER start a restore from the client side.  In fact I don't allow it.

Did you miss the subject line from my first reply? All of my restores are done from the master server except for SQL which must be done from the client and oracle rman restores..

Hi, I am having problems with restores failing after starting with decent throughput, and then droppping to about 12 Mbps to later stop transmitting. A defunct tar file is always left which can not be killed unless rebooting the server.

My scenario is as follows:
Master: SUN T5220, 3 SUN M5000 media servers, 1 SUN V490 media server, (all runing Solaris 10 sparc)  
Netbackup 6.5.2  1 Master and 4 Media servers (including the master). All media servers are also clients.
The restores are made of backups residing in virtual tape (EMC).
Backups to the tape devices are all sucesfull

I changed all kinds of default  tmeout vales system's  shared memory/emaphores without effect. The backup for the restore was made with 3 streams of 3 file systemss each. I recently added the following line to avoid restoring multiple streamed jobs but the restores still fail:

/usr/openv/netbackup/ON_MPX_RESTORE

Please let me know if you have any suggestions....

Hi,
I think the best way to restore is to open the backup,archive and restore from the master server.Then click on file the select specify the policy type to choose which is the target server and destination server.

/usr/openv/netbackup/ON_MPX_RESTORE

Is this really you create ON_MPX_RESTORE? Or NO_MPX_RESTORE?
This problem is not same as original post, so you should create new post.

Please tell me how to do the sql server database restore to test server
