  • They look OK to me though you do not show the amount of memory

7.6 requires MINIMUM of 8GB for Master and 4GB for Media Servers - but more is better

For everything else put your details into SORT and it will give you all of the advice you need:

    Hope this helps

    Hi,

Both master and media server below were the details:-

    Total Physicalemory : 4.00 GB

    No of HDD : 4 (68.37 each)

    RAID Level ( 1+0 )

    Thanks.

  • OK - Memory is an issue then - you will need more for 7.6 - usually 32GB per server will be OK if you are not using de-dupe

That in turn will cause a much larger paging file so you will need more disk space

It may be that you want to do a hardware refresh - the rest of the information SORt should give you

  • The numbers arent hard and fast...I run in 8G (not under Windows tho')  and it works OK...not super responsive but it runs and I dont run out of memory either. But all this does depend on lots of other factors, documented by Symantec of course.

You can always up  the memory after the upgrade if its exhibiting memory shortage issues.

I used to run w 16G and donated 8G to other deserving causes...
