Netbackup 7.6 install on linux VCS cluster

Installing Netbackup on a fresh vcs cluster, once installed on the primary node I will need to install the maintance patch and client does it have to be done in a specific order?
 Secondly as its the only node in the cluster do I need to not need to freeze or offline the cluster resource group to install the client and maintance patch?
 Finally on the secondary node install netbackup then it join cluster resource group, do  I need to freeze the cluster then take it offline to install the client and maintance patch? Please advise what is the correct way?

I have taken a look at the HA& and clustering guides  looking for further clarification.

  • Have you read the patch installation instruction here :

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH217822 (I am assuming you are installing 7.6)

    All other UNIX/Linux "variation" can be found here:

  • Wait a minute. Did you just say you have a "cluster" that consists of one node?

    (That would not be a cluster, that would be a standalone server)

  • Well what I mean;

    Secondly during the install of the primary node at that point its the only node in the cluster,  do I need to freeze or offline the cluster resource group to install the client and maintance patch?
