NetBackup 7 SLP related errors ?
Hi Team,
We run a enterprise setup with a NBU 7.0.1 master server (VMware) and two media servers with MSDP and over 200 clients over wan lines (mostly).The media servers have three lto L4 each and a deduplication 2 TB pool each
We are not experiencing any issues with the client server communication by all means (comms,duplication).
The issues we have deals wih the media servers and mostly with MSDP (not sure).
The first issue (symantec addmited this,will be solved within summer) is the very slow migration speed from the DD pool to the tapes.
The second issue deals with some policies which use an SLP as storage.That SLP backups at the local media server and duplicates at the remote server pool.They have 3 week retention due to the previous issue.
At sunday 25/4 we started expiriencing error 83 and 129 (disk full).At the time of the event the disk pools where 70% at production and 66% full at the remote media server.We thought that we have the known issue with the missreport of the free space in DD pools.
After check with the "crcontrol --dsstat" command we saw that there was some space...

Some time ago i had some issue with catalog replication via SLP.That issue resolved by creating a new SLP (do not know it it is right but it works).
I did the same for my recent problem and the problem is solved.
The storage seem to have free space , although it need compaction (it is turned on) , so i have no clues why i exprerience that issue
Do you have any ideas why i have this issue?
