netbackup assurance

Albeit not a backup admin myself, using your experience and expetese in backups, if you want some management assurance on the backup status/configuration of your priority / business crtiical servers, what exactly would you check in netbackup to ensure they are aligned and configured with best practice? Can you provide some pointers what youd check? As many checks as possible, however trivial they may be.
