Netbackup can not startup

Let's see the output of

ls -l /usr/openv/var/globa/*.conf

ls -l /usr/openv/db/data

Most likely, the transaction log is corrupt.

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/goodies/netbackup stop
/usr/openv/db/bin/nbdb_admin -auto_start NONE
. /usr/openv/db/vxdbms_env.sh
cd /usr/openv/db/data 
mv NBDB.log NBDB.log.bad
/usr/openv/db/bin/dbeng11 -f NBDB
/usr/openv/db/bin/nbdb_admin -auto_start NBDB

( /usr/openv/db/bin/nbdb_admin -auto_start BMRDB  -  If using BMR, else skip this line)

On the 3rd line, it start with a .  Do NOT miss this, copy/ paste exactly.

Is PBX running?

Please show us output of:
bpps -x.

I addition to above commands, please also show us output of:
cat /usr/openv/netbackup/bp.conf

Please also let us know what exactly you did to clean up space. It almost seems as if NBU is trying to start as a client, not as a master server.

I have attached the output, named "backup_a".

What I cleaned were the Netbackup log files from /usr/openv/logs/ and /usr/openv/netbackup/logs. I just remove the old files (not the directories). What you think the issue here? Thank you

So, emm is not starting.

Please stop NBU again and then start it.

Check emm log see why it is not starting:

vxlogview -o 111 -t 00:05:00

The above command will show emm log for the last 5 minutes. Provide enough time with -t to catch last startup atempt. 

Please also check /usr/openv/db/log/server.log for errors.

I have proceed the commands you provide. But the problem is still the same. The EMM still not up.

I have tried to remove more old files to get more space on the disk till I have about 8,8 GB space left . Then as you all suggested, I stopped the NBU using netbackup stop and bp.kill_all.  After starting NBU, now the EMM server is up and the NBU run normal again.

So,  I think may be the real issue here is the space for EMM to up, it has to be big enough. Thank you all for your help.

Pity you never posted emm log as per my request yesterday. We would be able to see exact reason why emm would not start.

nbemm will shutdown when disk gets to more than 99% full.
