Netbackup client 7.5 binaries

Hello Team,

I am trying to install netbackup 7.5 windows client binaries but rollback and did not install.

when i am double click on setup it gave me below error, was this is the cause of unsuccessfull installation.

" User Account Control(UAC) is enable on this host. Some administrator may not have in UAC-enabled environments. Are you sure you want to proceed"

  • You have selected Windows 8 as OS.
Is this the OS on the client?

If not, please tell us OS on client and bit level.
Have you checked OS CL to confirm that Client OS is supported?

Are you doing local install? Or push-install from another Windows machine? (If so, tell us OS and bit level)
    Or installing using RDP?
Software copied to local machine or installing from a network share?

As per Nicolai's post - please check NBU installation guide for installation requirements (e.g. UAC must be disabled, user must have local admin rights, etc.), then discuss requirements with server admin.

  • did you right click on the setup icon and select "Run as Administrator".

  • Getting below error when it rollback and failed.

NetBackup VERSION registry does not exist. Will not bypass postgreSQL validation.

one or more entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\session manager\pendingFileRenameOperations

Registery value are associated with products other then netbackup. This indicates that previous operation on this host are pending completion following a reboot of a system.Consider finishing pending operations by rebooting the system.

  • when i right clicked on setup it is not showing me "Run as Administrator"

  • when i right clicked it showing me only below options:

    Open, Cut, Copy, Properties, Delete

  • Verify with the Windows admin then, seems you do not have the needed rights.
