netbackup client agent installation on 32 bit arch

Master RHEL6 x86_64, 7.6.0.1

Client Linux as follows:

getconf LONG_BIT
32
uname -a
Linux ACCORGWDSP001.ACCORG.COM 2.6.18-348.1.1.el5PAE #1 SMP Tue Jan 22 17:06:35 EST 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

How to install netbackup client agent on it.

I am not able to install any binary present in following packages:

NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS1.tar.gz
NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS2.tar.gz

    32 Bit on Linux is not supported since 7.0.

    OS compat guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76648

    You can use an older client like 6.5.x (if you can find the binaries) but it would be limited to very basic functionality.

    Is not there any work out to fix this ?

    Because due to EOSL of 6.x, we wont be able to get any binaries of 6.x.

    Guys, is this a workaround or is it simply the installation of 6.5 Client after editing the install scripts as noted in TECH176428 ?  If it works I am interested.......

    I am in exactly the same situation, with Ubuntu 12.0.4 32bit running, and unable to install 7.5 client.

    That technote looks like it relates to a 64 bit OS that is having some issue with the operating system. The installation of the 6.5 client is the only way to get a 32bit linux installed with NBU client.

    So if I install the 6.5 client, presumably after editing scripts, will this work with an ubuntu 12.0.4 32bit client ?

    I don't think it will work.

    Ubuntu 12.x was never supported with NBU 6.x.

     Worth a try though!

    Convinced customer to go with VMware backup policy, avoiding client requirement.
