NetBackup client crashing

Hi, 

 

I'm using Win 2008 R2, backup is working well using NDMP, cat are backed up and BLAT is confogured and sending me all info.

Problem is that the client for restoring is crahing upon opening.

Any ideas??

    Another idea. Install the Java GUI, it so dumb that rarely crashes.

    IIRC W2K8 was supported from 6.5.4 but W2K8 R2 was supported from 6.5.5, are you on supported version?

    Yes 6.5.6

    This is working for more then 2 years, I had to reinstall entire environment after hardware crah(disk)

    Installation and config went well and all nbackup job are succssfuly finshed but fro some reason since 2 days ago restore client started to give me problems.

    No, since I'm logged in to the system as a domain admin, this issue started a few days ago without any special rersons. it was working perfectly.

    Like I mention the backup jobs are working, catalog hot backup is configuerd and sending reports via BLAT.

    Only restore GUI is crashing on me.

    Can I was bprestore until I can figure this one?

    I would try to reinstall NBU client just to make sure that everything is in place, not to forget to save notification scripts, of course.

    I run repair from the install directory but it didn't solve the problem.

    Any other way? uninstall the client and reinstall?

    How do I save the scripts?

    What kind of restore? File system or database? If file system, do restore from master.

    I think I misunderstood...

    I read 'client' as a separate network client, not the BAR GUI.

    I am surprised to learn that W2008 R2 NBU master has been working fine with NBU 6.5.x.

    As pointed out above, only NBU 6.5.5 client is supported with W2008 R2.

    W2008 64-bit was supported as NBU media server with NBU 6.5.2 and higher Master as from 6.5.4, but W2008 R2 NBU server as from 7.0 only.

    The Java GUI is on the same installation media as NBU for Windows. Look under Addons folder.
    (Maybe Mouse can help - I have not been able to get Java GUI to work with W2008 R2. Dead easy with Unix/Linux master.)

    PS: PLEASE upgrade your environment ASAP. NBU 6.x will reach EOSL in exactly 2 weeks (3 Oct).
