NetBackup for PostgreSQL configuration

Hello,

I am trying to understand how to configure backups for PostgreSQL in NetBackup (reading the Veritas NetBackup™ for PostgreSQL Administrator's Guide).

Do I need to install the NetBackup for PostgreSQL agent as well as the regular NetBackup client software on the PostgreSQL server?

    You need the NetBackup Client software as well on the database client. 

    This is implied in the requirements before the agent is installed: 

    Before you install, ensure that you meet the following prerequisites:
    ■ NetBackup 8.2 or later is installed and operational on the master server, media
    server, and the client.

    You expressed yourself clearly, and I answered accordingly.

    Do I need to install the NetBackup for PostgreSQL agent as well as the regular NetBackup client software on the PostgreSQL server?

    the answer was yes, you need to install both. the client as well as the plugin (agent)

      Hi Riaan,

      Thanks for your reply. But it seems I didn't express myself correctly...

      What I meant was do I still need to install the regular NBU client software on the PostgreSQL server? Or is the seperate NBU plugin for PostgreSQL enough for backups/restores?
