Besides the NetBackup Server license you will need:
One Enterprise Client license for each physical host when one or more resident VMs are protected by NetBackup for VMware.
One Application and Database Pack license for each physical host when one or more resident VMs are protected by any of:
- NetBackup for VMware “application protection” feature for Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, or SQL Server
- NetBackup agent in the VM (excluding NetBackup for SAP)
For example, a single physical host running multiple virtual machines including Exchange and SQL Server would require one (1) Application and Database Pack license to cover all Exchange and SQL Server instances on the physical host, regardless of how many VMs may be running these two applications.
Enterprise Client and Database Pack are based on Tiers.
