New Media Server not in "Additional servers" list

I added a new media server to Netbackup 7.5.0.4.  I'm in a multiple media server envioroment with shared tape drives.  Some jobs are failing only for the new media server with (59).  These clients do not have the new server in the "Additional servers" list.  When I add the new media server to the list those client pass.  My question is how can I add the new media server to all the clients that do not have it before waiting on the clients to fail.  I have over 550 clients and I don't want to do them one by one.  Can someone Help me Please?

  • hi you have 2 quick ways

    1) use the bpsetconfig command with script to set the media server to all clients

    2) from Master server GUI--> host properties--> clients --

    select all clients that you want to update, and make sure all are connected with green tick mark

    once all are connected, make sure all are selected, right click ---> Properties..--> servers. then add the new media server name click  on apply ---> Okay.

    it will set the new server name in all selected clients..

  • One other way, if your clients are Windows ... Use AD to push out a registry change to all clients to update the "Server" key under HKLM\Software\Veritas\NetBackup\CurrentVersion\Config\ or for unix clients script something to edit their bp.conf file (though bpsetconfig effectively does this for you) Hope this helps
