I have configured an Oracle Intelligent policy whose backups were successful but when I try to restore it gives me the following error ORA-19870: error while restoring backup piece bk_dTEST_u1bq7olp7 ORA-19507: failed to retrieve sequential file, handle="bk_dTEST_u1bq7olp7", parms="" ORA-27029: skgfrtrv: sbtrestore returned error ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer, error text: Backup file <c-1454518342-20110713-01> not found in NetBackup catalog Kindly be informed that I have the master server and the client which runs the database are the same server Kindly find the dbclient logs in the attachments

Ensure you specify the right client name

Ensure the oracle backup you request actual exist (typos ??).

Verift with the bplist command what backup you have of the Oracle client

bplist -B -C {CLIENT_NAME} -R -l -t 4 -s 01/01/2015 /

Depending on naming format in OIP, command will return somthing like

Sorry there is a mistake here

the backup file is bk_dTEST_u1bq7olp7 not as what is written above

Please let me know how I can check this backup images ? What commands to use?

We need to check on the master server which CLIENT_NAME was used for the Oracle backups.

If you go to Host Properties -> Applications -> Oracle -> Instances, what do you see in Host column?
oratest.senyoritaag.com or oratest ?

Which username was used to register the instance?
oratest? oracle? Another oracle user?

How was restore initiated?
And how was backup image names determined in restore request?

Do not post bulk data like this. Attach as a file to a post please.

If its not in the list, it does not exists and that why you are seeing a error.

In order for RMAN to work correctly it need to be synchronized with Netbackup. You do that with the RMAN

as follows from http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14192/maint002.htm

RUN { ALLOCATE CHANNEL FOR MAINTENANCE DEVICE TYPE sbt; CROSSCHECK BACKUP; }

As you can see this we are moving away from Netbackup and into the DBA world. If possible team up with a DBA.
