Oracle RMAN backup fails

Hi everyone. I’m having a small issue with Oracle RMAN. When the archivelog backup runs (using the default application backup policy), RMAN throws an error at the end, but NetBackup reports the backup as successful. Has anyone run into this before?
NetBackup 10.1 — RMAN log is attached.

  • have you done any changes recently on the client (upgrade or something).
is it an oracle RAC? or individual oracle client?
if you have support, open a case as there could be an EEB for this version.
do you have the same issue in incremental /full backup ?

Netbackup was just upgraded from 8 to 10.1. The client was also upgraded. This is a separate server with a database; there is no cluster. Everything is fine on the other servers; there are no issues with full or incremental backups.

Do you have other oracle which are working fine after upgrade?!

Do you have active support?!if you do, did you open a support case?!(i think 10.1 is out of support though)

Is it possible to remove the agent and do the installation again .

Do you have a plan to upgrade your netbackup to a highet version?i

Usually these sort of issue does happen and with support they provide an EEB for it.but in later versions issue gets sorted out.

  • what I understand is that the backup is successful but the RMAN cleanup process failed to delete images from netbackup as they are already expired.
