Oracle RMAN image delete restriction

Is there a way to retain Oracle team rights to perform RMAN backups but restrict them from deleting images from the catalog?

    I seriously doubt that.

    As owner of Oracle db, they will have backup rights as well as image expiration rights in RMAN.

    Maybe this is a discussion that you need to have with your management?
    Roles and responsibilities should be clearly documented....

      I seriously doubt that too ..

      But do you now where to find the information about this rman task on master/media server? in which logfile can I read  client x have executed nbdelete  of which image

        It will not be nbdelete command. 
        And user on Oracle client cannot run bpexpdate unless the Oracle server is NBU media server and the user is logged on as root. 
        'Admin' log on the server where command is issued will log bpexpdate.

        The rman commands that are covered in the TNs in my 2015 posts will simply remove entries from rman catalog if images are already expired in NBU.
