pbx cluster resource questions

Hello,

A client added a new server to a windows cluster that was setup a couple of months ago do we need to set up a PBX-ClusterGroup and a PBX resource for that new server? And a PBX resource for it? Or are those PBX items not needed?

If they are not needed can they be removed without affecting the windows cluster setup?

Also, it was asked if these were setup cluster aware, however from what I read as long as the client is installed on the windows  servers in the cluster

that would work as well.

Thanks in Advance!

  • I agree with Marianne.

We often encounter pbx cluster resource take MS cluster down.

When we use install scripts to do this , it easy to avoid it.

  • Question,

Is it an advantage to make a cluster  "cluster aware" ? or is that just a different option of chosing to do a cluster without installing the client on 2 or more nodes?  The reason I ask is a client "customer" had a question about should their windows cluster be "cluster aware".

    thanks
