perpetual VS Subscription

Extract from NBU Licensing Guide (available to resellers only):

In addition to perpetual licenses, subscription licenses are available for NetBackup Platform Base/Capacity – Complete Edition and NetBackup Self Service.
Subscription is an up-front charge for the right to use the product for one, two or three years; maintenance is included in the price. Customers who subscribe will not own the product, but they will have all the entitlements of ownership as long as they are subscribers.

 

Perpetual is the licensing model that we have been used to - licensed is owned by the end-user and maintenance must be purchased separately.
