We have a requirement to for platform migration of NetBackup Appliance 5240 to RHEL-9. Is it possible to do a NetBackup Catalog recovery. we shall maintain the same host name and IP.
Current NetBackup version is 10.3.0.1.
Please share if you have a reference article or procedure.
No, you cannot use Catalog Backup and Recovery to migrate NetBackup from an appliance to BYO. This is due to the different directory structures of the two installations.
If you are experienced enough, it is possible, but it is a painful process and largely trial-and-error.
You must use “NetBackup Primary Server Migration”, which is the supported method for performing the migration.
