policy configuration

How to configure a policy through command line.

I know there are multiple commands used for this.

I know one or two commands.

E.G.

1.bpplclients: to add client , delete client, rename client in policy.

2../bpplinclude : TO ADD BACKUP SELECTION

3../bpplclients: to add clients

But how add attributes ?

Wannawin, you tried using the 'bp' or 'bpadm' commands. They are menu driven command line interfaces. Give them a go.

My interview answers are always everything but the expected answers....

WHY would anyone want to use cmd?

There are GUI's - they run ON the backup server by default. You can also install GUI's for each NBU flavour on backup admin's PC/laptop/desktop.

It is a LOT quicker to use GUI than try and figure out command parameters.

In my 13 years with NBU I have used LOTS of NBU commands - creating policy commands are NOT among them. I have never needed to.
A cmd-fanatic can read up in Command Reference guide - I can give you URLs to all versions.

Though i hate NBU CLI most.

GUI should have everything you need .
