Queue size

Hi,

I am oracle DBA, Unfortunately taking care of symanctec netbackup as well. So i am new to this netbackup.

I keep getting alerts like below. 

I do not want to ignore this warning, what is this and how can i fix this? Please help.

  • This mean the MSDP pool is to busy and updates pile up. It need to do internal house keeping.

    Please tell us the Netbackup version you are using, OS version and how much memory installed.

    If you feel uncomfortable performing changes, consider to either contact a Netbackup consultant or open a support ticket with Symantec.

     

     

  • it looks like MSDP queue process is not running or not getting successfull.

    provide the more details please..

    verison of the media server holding the MSDP pool

    size of the MSDP pool

    and output of below commands

     

    /usr/openv/pdde/pdcr/bin/crcontrol --processqueueinfo 

    /usr/openv/pdde/pdcr/bin/crcontrol --processqueuestatus

    /usr/openv/pdde/pdcr/bin/crcontrol --dsstat

    also attach the spoold.log, storaged.log and spad.log files to this post.

    you can find these logs in <MSDP DISK>/logs
