recover catalog from replicated disk pool

if we backed up the catalog from a disk pool, then we replicate it to our remote site. is that possible to recover catalog from replica? same domain name will be used on remote site. what needs to be changed on disk pool/file system to allow catalog recover process to find the catalog from replicated pool?

we are trying to find a way to speed up the catalog restore process.

thanks.

Yes, but not directly. It will require some additional steps

It's  better to always have latest full and inc backups localy on BasicDisk STU or tape. Don't forget that in some cases you'll need the Disaster Recovery package too.

  • The Catalog Recovery Email should have all the details about the recovery process.

It should show you the backup path or device ID of the disk pool where the replicated Catalog exists. Depending on that you may have to change the primary Catalog backup copy to the replicated one. If it's  BasicDisk pool, I think you may have to give the path of the replicated copy.
