Restore a SQL data base

Hii all,

Can I start a SQL restore for a Customer from the Master server?
I know to restore a SQL direct from the client with Netbackup MS SQL Client, but can I do also this thing from Master?

When you can start the SQL restor just from client ....it is dangerous. I don't want my customer one SQL restore alone to start.

There is a possibility?

Thanks a lot.

  • Sorry,
SQL restores must be initiated from the SQL client.
They cannot be done from the master.

  • Hi

    ok, i understand.

But now when I try to restore the data base from the client come this error "Error encountered trying to read database images".

I open the SQL client GUI and from "File"  and try to open "Restore SQL Server objects" and after that come this error "
Error encountered trying to read database images".

    Somethig about this error?

    Thanks

  • Check the sql server name and database in the connect configurtion.
Also check the browse client names

  • What is your NetBackup version on Master server as well as client?
Please share dbclient log file on SQL client.
I found a TechNote that describes this problem with NBU 5.1: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/278914.htm
