RHEV 3.3 + Netbackup 7.5

Hi

Has anyone deployed Netbackup 7.X with RHEV 3.3 and successfully backed up virtual machines via a Snaphot?

I know a similar question was asked in June 2013 - but I am hoping there has been some updates / progression.

Thanks

Mick

  • No generic support for RHEV as VMware Vsphere framework. But RH has published this document

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.1 Backup and Recovery Using Symantec Netbackup 7.5 (7.5.0.5)

  • it looks like there is notthing yet availble for RHEV3.3 - maybe it will come in 3.4 and Netbackup 7.6 .. .

      Hi,

Today you can backup via native API snapshot method on RHEV / RHV environments.

Storware vProtect https://storware.eu/en/storware-vprotect/ can do image level backup for most of open hypervisors environments such as Citrix XenServer, Xen (based on a regular Linux distribution), RHEV / RHV, oVirt, KVM, KVM for IBMz and Oracle VM.

Most important part - vProtects integrates with Veritas Netbackup (client integration)
