rman backup failing on linux machine with netbackup 6.5

Oracle 11g database is running on linux machine with netbackup 6.5.Backup is failing with the error "RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on ch00 channel RMAN-10038: database session for channel ch00 terminated unexpectedly"

while oracle 10g database backup is running fine on the same machine.

My question here is whether netbackup 6.5 supports 11g backup or do we need to upgrade the netbackup client?

    11g R1 or R2?

    Linux version?

    NBU 6.5 patch level?

    Supported combinations are listed in NetBackup 6.x Application/Database Agent (CL):    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH43684

    6.5.4 and 6.5.5 are supported with EEB's.
    Support included in 6.5.6.
