Have you confirmed compatibility before you upgraded the clients?
OS and DB compatibility.If this is not a compatibility issue, then you should log a call with Veritas Support.
They will need level 5 logs from the 7.6 backups as well as 7.7.3.- SaimakidLevel 2

Have logged a call with Veritas support and shared the logs.
