Single XFS 96TB FS for MSDP instead of 3*32TB FS

Hi Team,

has anyone experience with MSDP created ona a single XFS 96TB FS using LVM on Linux RH instead of 3 x 32TB FS as suggested in this TN https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.HOWTO111100.

We would like a scalable solution which starts from 32TB, later on we might need to expand the MDSP to its maximum size by adding more storage and expanding the FS.

Is this a supported configuration ?

Alternativerly, following the given TN, will I be able to still expand the single FS such as /msdp/vol1/data, /msdp/vol2/data initially created of 15TB each, without loosing nay data?

    Expanding a volume is supported if using a volume manager - e.g LVM. You don't need to have a disk volume of 96 TB in size from the beginning. After re-sizing volume pool and logical volume , Netbackup services likely has to bere-started.

    XFS is supported in NBU 8.X - if using a older version of Netbackup use EXT4.

    Alternative , if using thin provisioned LUN, create a pool of 96 from the beginning.
