Solaris 11 running with VxFS running Standard FS backup taking more backup than estimated

We are taking full backup for Server Solaris 11 Veritas Cluster Server ,we selected inclusion list manually ,total backup as per du -sh should be 4 TB but it takes 15 TB for full backup 4 days to complete ,witn 70mbp through put

Please advise what should have gone wrong ,checked restore it has ran as per inclusion list .

  • If you list the files in the backup images, what's the excess of data ?

I am bit puzzled about the statement "inclusion list manually". Usually you specify what to backup in the policy, then exclude what you don't need via a exclude_list, if you then have excluded too much, you can then include it again.

  • What kind of filesystems are you backing up? Are they LOFS?

    Are you using non-global zones?
